Quantum Pizza Art & Design Rotoscoped Animation · Wisconsin

We turn real footage into animated film, one frame at a time.

An independent animation studio building a feature-length rotoscoped documentary — on a conversion pipeline we built ourselves.

What we do

Rotoscoping is the oldest trick in animation: draw over live action, frame by frame, and you get motion no keyframe animator can fake. It is also brutally slow. A feature is tens of thousands of individual drawings.

We built a pipeline that does the drawing pass — a diffusion model with a character model we trained ourselves, running frame by frame, holding one consistent look across an entire film. Every frame is reviewed by hand. The machine does the labour; the artist keeps the authorship.

Same pipeline, same shot — consistent look across thousands of frames.

How it works

A trained eye

A model trained on the artist's own paintings, so every frame carries one hand's style instead of a generic filter.

Frame by frame

No interpolation, no shortcuts. Each frame is converted individually and checked, then assembled back into the cut.

Built to scale

Resume-safe batch rendering across local and cloud GPUs, so a feature-length job survives restarts and nothing is lost.

Technical

Work with us

Our own feature comes first. Beyond that, we are interested in talking with independent filmmakers who want this look and have run into the same wall we did — the work is GPU-bound and the hardware is out of reach.
